Homework help without the copying

AI chat apps make it easy to copy. Socro is a homework tutor that does the opposite: it asks questions and gives hints, so students work the problem out themselves. Here’s what to know before you sign up.

Is using Socro cheating?

Socro is built so the student does the thinking. It asks what they’ve tried, gives one hint at a time, and points to the first mistake in their work instead of redoing it for them.

  • It won’t write essays, paragraphs or sentences.
  • It won’t say which multiple-choice option is right.
  • It goes through a full answer only as a last resort, after several real attempts, and then explains each step.

Socro’s terms don’t allow using it for academic dishonesty, and accounts used that way can be closed. Schools set their own rules about outside help, so if you’re not sure what’s allowed, check with the teacher.

How Socro supports what teachers assign

Students bring their actual homework: the worksheet question, the essay prompt, the problem they’re stuck on. Socro helps them work through that assignment rather than a generic lesson.

It doesn’t replace the teacher. Socro can make mistakes, so treat it as a study aid alongside class, not the final word. If Socro and the teacher ever disagree, go with the teacher.

Your child’s privacy

Here’s a short summary of Socro’s Privacy Policy. The full policy is the official version.

  • What’s collected: the account holder’s email address, the homework and conversations your child submits, and basic usage analytics such as page views, device and browser type, and general region.
  • What isn’t done with it: homework isn’t used to train models, and personal information isn’t sold, rented or shared with third parties for their own marketing.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe. Socro doesn’t store full card numbers.
  • Service providers: OpenAI processes homework to generate feedback, Supabase stores account data and conversation history, Stripe handles payments, and Vercel hosts the site.
  • Cookies: Socro and its providers may use cookies to run the site, measure usage and support advertising. You can manage cookies in your browser settings.
  • Your rights: you can review, correct or delete your child’s information at any time by emailing support@socro.io. Deletion is completed within 30 days of a request.

Setting up an account

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Go to socro.io/login and create an account with your own email address, or sign up with Google.
  2. If you signed up with email, confirm your address with the link Socro sends you. If it hasn’t arrived after a few minutes, check your spam folder.
  3. Hand it over. Your child picks a subject and starts asking questions.

Because the account is yours, you can open it any time and read back through past sessions.

What it costs

Socro is free to start: 10 messages a day, all four subjects and session history. Socro Pro is $14.99 a month for unlimited messages, priority access and advanced math support. You can cancel any time, and Pro stays active until the end of the billing period.
